My wife has spent her entire career in healthcare, and our kids lovingly call her the “GNAT” — the Greatest Nurse of All Time. One morning, I overheard her deep in conversation with someone about a serious health issue involving an elderly parent. I didn’t know who she was speaking with, and honestly, it could have been anyone. That’s because, with nearly 30 years of experience, she’s the first call for countless friends and family members when they need medical guidance.

What truly amazes me is how she always shows up — she takes every call, listens intently, offers sound advice, makes visits when needed, and follows up to ensure everything is okay. She does it all with grace, warmth, and a genuine sense of purpose. For her, it’s not a burden — it’s a privilege.

It’s a powerful reminder: being a trusted advisor, in any field, is a responsibility that should never be taken lightly. It’s about showing up, being present, and caring enough to make a difference. I strive to emulate my wife when anyone calls me for financial advice. I might not be the Greatest Banker of All Time, but I do know a few things about finance!
