The White Lotus got me thinking….

I just finished the final episode of White Lotus Season 3. For those who’ve followed the show, you’ll remember Belinda Lindsey—the spa manager with a dream. Back in Season 1, she spoke passionately about starting her own wellness business, but that dream never materialized. In Season 3, we see her again, still holding onto the idea… but still stuck.

Every time her dream resurfaces, her response is the same: It’s out of reach. Why? A lack of resources.

As a banker—and someone who’s gotten a bit older and (hopefully) wiser—I found myself thinking less about the show and more about real life. What would it take for someone like Belinda, or any dreamer, to shake that feeling of limitation?

Over the years, I’ve learned this: the most important step is the first one. Asking the question. Getting curious. Sitting down with someone who’s done it—or someone whose job is to help others do it.

There are always reasons not to start:
  • What if I fail?
  • I don’t have the seed money.
  • It’s not the right time (is it ever?).
  • It’ll be too much work.
All valid concerns. Risks are real. Not every idea will work. But “lack of funding” shouldn’t be the end of the story—not before you find out what’s possible with a good community bank and a partner like the SBA.

Sometimes, one conversation is all it takes to turn a dream into a plan.

Before dismissing any options, it's essential to consult with a local banker who understands the Phoenix market. With over 100 years of combined experience, GBB can provide insights and avenues you may not have considered for purchasing your own building and continuing your company’s growth.
